and the Division of Bone Disease at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva.

  • Members only need a valid e-mail address to register for OsteoLink. Members can register with their own names if they choose, or use a nickname or alias instead
  • Registration information may be available to or stored by the IOF or the National Societies

We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy when you visit and connect with other people who care about osteoporosis on http:au.osteolink.org ("our site").

In this Privacy Policy, "we", "our" and "us" refers to the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF). Full details of our organisations are set out in our terms of use.

The policy (together with our terms of use and any other  documents referred to on it) explains how we will process and use any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us. 2. WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination within Switzerland and/or the European Economic Area ("EEA"). It may also be processed by third parties operating within Switzerland and /or the EEA which work for us or for one of our suppliers. We will take all steps necessary to ensure that you data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy and with the applicable data protection legislation and any applicable data protection law.

If we provide (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. To ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and your computer we may send "cookies" to your computer or use similar technologies. If you choose to provide us with personal information, it can be linked to the anonymous data stored in the cookies which can identify you as a unique customer and store your personal preferences as well as tecnical information including click through and click stream data.

To provide you with information that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.

To allow you to participate in interactive features of our research when you choose to do so.

4 DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION 

WE MAY DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL DATA (INCLUDING INFORMATION WHICH YOU PROVIDE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH, DIAGNOSIS AND/OR TREATMENT) TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT WE PARTNER WITH ON RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL PERTAINING TO OSTEOPOROSIS WITHIN THE RESTRICTIONS OF SEC. 28 PAR.3 NO.3 BDSG. WE WILL ENSURE THAT OUR PARTNER ORGANISATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO THE SAME RESTRICTIONS AS US (AS SET OUT IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY) IN RELATION TO THEIR USE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA.          

WE MAY ALSO DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL DATA (INCLUDING INFORMATION WHICH YOU PROVIDE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH, DIAGNOSIS AND/OR TREATMENT) TO OUR DATA PROCESSING AGENCIES SUCH AS TECHNICAL, DIGITAL AND/OR TRANSLATION AGENCIES FOR ADMINISTRATIVE PURPOSES ONLY. WE WILL ENSURE THAT SUCH AGENCIES ARE SUBJECT TO THE SAME RESTRICTIONS AS US (AS SET OUT IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY) IN RELATION TO THEIR USE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA.

We may disclose your personal information to other third parties if we are under a legal duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any overriding legal obligation.

No personal data will be shared with any funding sponsors of OsteoLink. This includes global and national OsteoLink sponsors. WE WILL NOT SELL OR DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL DATA TO EXTERNAL COMMERCIAL ORGANISATIONS SUCH AS ADVERTISERS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. We may use personal data for research, educational and correspondence purposes only, as explained above.

 5. YOUR RIGHTS 

Our site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.

You have a legal right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with applicable law.

You have the right to request that we remove your personal information from our databases and the right to access, update and correct inaccuracies in your personal information in our custody or control, subject to certain exceptions prescribed by law.
